Methandrostenolone, also known as "methandienone," is a highly anabolic and moderately androgenic steroid. Oral methandrostenolone (tablets) is, and historically has been, the most widely used oral steroid for performance enhancement, a favorite of Arnold Schwarzenegger and many others since the golden age of bodybuilding.

Methandrostenolone produces rapid gains in strength and weight, partly due to its significant water retention. It is primarily used in bulking and strength cycles to see results from the start. It is generally used at the beginning of the cycle for no more than 6 weeks. It combines exceptionally well with deca, leading to significant gains in muscle mass and strength. Adding testosterone further enhances the gains. If androgenic effects are not a concern, deca can be replaced with trenbolone, creating an extremely potent cycle, as trenbolone and methandrostenolone synergize. With a cycle of 30-40 mg/day of methandrostenolone, 500-750 mg/week of testosterone, and 400-500 mg/week of trenbolone, an intermediate-to-advanced athlete could easily gain 15 kg of muscle mass, depending on diet, genetics, and training.
